# Claude Code

> Point Claude Code at the Build docs and your key, paste one sentence, and let it write the call.

Use Claude Code for: a file or an analysis. It reads the same docs as every other tool.

## Where the key goes

Export the key in the shell Claude Code runs in, or keep it in a `.env` file that is not committed. The key is always named `BUILD_API_KEY`, and the prompt names the variable, never the key.

## If it breaks

Paste the error back into Claude Code. Errors say what to change, and a `429` says when to retry. Reads are safe to run again.
